The J. Geils Band was an American band that was formed in 1968 by guitarist John "J." Geils. The other band members included lead singer Peter Wolf, harmonica player Richard "Magic Dick" Salwitz, drummer Stephen Bladd, keyboardist Seth Justman and bassist Danny Klein. Wolf and Justman were the principal songwriters. Their success came to a peak in 1981 with the album Freeze Frame and the number one song "Centerfold." Wolf left the group in 1983 and the band broke up in 1985, but some reunion appearances and tours did take place.
