What Was On Top?

"Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Queen stayed in the top spot for a second consecutive week.

"Do That To Me One More Time" and "Yes, I'm Ready" switched positions with Teri DeSario's song moving up to #2 and the Captain & Tennille dropping to #3.

Meanwhile "Longer" by Dan Fogelberg jumped from #6 to #4 and "Desire" by Andy Gibb moved from #8 to #5.

What Were The Big Movers?

"Him" by Rupert Holmes made the biggest jump within the top 40 moving from #24 to #16.

Three songs made big leaps into the top forty. "Ride Like The Wind" by Christopher Cross moved from #46 to #31. "I Can't Tell You Why" by The Eagles jumped 28 notches from #60 to #32 and was the biggest mover within the chart for the week. "Fire Lake" by Bob Seger jumped 25 spots from #65 to #40.

A handful of other songs made jumps of ten spots below the top 40 including "Keep The Fire," "The Spirit Of Radio," "What I Like About You," and "Carrie."

The biggest dropper was "Deja Vu" by Dionne Warwick which fell 52 spots from #34 to #86.

What Was New?

Five songs debuted on the chart, led by Jimmy Ruffin and "Hold On To My Love" at #62. He was the older brother of Temptations singer David Ruffin.

Coming in at #75 was "Any Way You Want It" which would become Journey's second top 40 hit. "Only A Lonely Heart Sees" by Felix Cavaliere would also make the top 40. Cavaliere was the singer for the 60's group The Rascals.

The other two new songs for the week were "Baby Don't Go" by Karla Bonoff (#80) and "Outside My Window" by Stevie Wonder (#77).
