What Was On Top?

"Rock With You" by Michael Jackson spent a third consecutive week at number one. It was the first time a song had spent at least three straight weeks at the top since "My Sharona" in the fall of 1979.

"Do That To Me One More Time" by The Captain & Tennille and "Coward Of The County" by Kenny Rogers once again held down #2 and #3.

"Cruisin'" by Smokey Robinson inched up a spot to #4, while "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Queen jumped from #8 to #5.

What Were The Big Movers?

"Yes, I'm Ready" by Teri DeSario with K.C. made an impressive jump into the top ten from #16 to #9.

"On The Radio" by Donna Summer made its biggest move yet in its fourth week on the chart from #35 to #16. "Desire" by Andy Gibb jumped 22 notches in its second week from #44 to #22.

Tying Gibb for the biggest move within the chart for the week was Chuck Mangione's "Give It All You Got" which went from #79 to #57.

The biggest drop within the chart belonged to Suzi Quatro. "She's In Love With You" plummeted from #41 to #97.

What Was New?

The highest debuting song of the week was "How Do I Make You" by Linda Ronstadt. The lead single from her Mad Love album came in at #68.

Wayne Newton's last chart single "Years" debuted at #84, while .38 Special's first chart single "Rockin' Into The Night" debuted at #80.

The other new songs on the chart this week were "Come Back" by the J. Geils Band, "Us And Love" by Kenny Nolan, "The Hardest Part" by Blondie, "Peanut Butter" by Twennynine Featuring Lenny White, "I Don't Like Mondays" by The Boomtown Rats, and "Computer Game" by Yellow Magic Orchestra.
